Capacitors Electrolytic

The electrolytic capacitor consists of two electrodes, one of which is made of aluminum or tantalum, and the other is the electrolyte. The use of an electrolyte allows to provide a greater electrical capacity than in other types of capacitors. This type of capacitor is used in applications where a large capacity is needed, but does not require a strictly defined value or work with analog-digital signals.

Electrolytic capacitors are characterized by small size, high capacity and operation at low frequencies. An important feature of this type of capacitor is its polarity, that is a defined polarity. To prevent damaging the capacitor, the positive electrode should be connected to the positive pole.
